Procedure
The aim of the project is the development of quality standards and the assessment of education providers offering courses for family caregivers, to the attention of the Homecare Nurses’ Association Spitex Suisse and ASPS (Association Spitex Privé Suisse). In this project, training courses for family caregivers are evaluated according to pre-defined criteria and a recognition recommendation is formulated to the attention of the decision board of the two national Homecare nurses’ associations.
Results
A standardised assessment and approval process has been established for the recognition of training providers. Educational organisations submit their demand via an application form. The procedure, criteria and requirements are clearly defined and documented in the documents ‘Process Description: Initial Recognition, ‘Process Description: Re-evaluation’, ‘Checklist’ and in the ‘Appendix: Assessment Criteria for Re-evaluation’. Recognized training providers are publicly listed on the websites of the two national homecare nurses’ associations. The project contributes to quality assurance, comparability and transparency of training programmes for family carers.
